Atomic are quite possibly the most successful brand in ski racing, where the world’s best athletes win gold after gold, title after title, skiing with Atomic skis and Atomic ski boots. Atomic skis, ski boots and ski poles symbolise the ambition that drives them to question the tried and tested with new approaches, ideas and designs that keeps them at the forefront of not just the ski race industry, but also the all-mountain ski market and the freeride ski market. One of the original ski brands, Atomic have been manufacturing skis since 1955, buried in the heart of the Austrian Alps with a passion for skiing and a passion for making skis, making it so much more to them than just a business. Initially a wheelwright company, it began producing winter sports equipment like skis and ski poles, using local timber and craftsmen. By 1957, they were making 2000 pairs of wood laminated skis, and in the following year, they discontinued making wheels and sleds, to focus entirely on hand-made wood laminate skis. It was in the 1968 Winter Olympics, when Olga Pall won the women’s downhill using Atomic skis that the company’s status was cemented and evermore remained at the heart and the head of ski racing, providing skis for the Austrian ski team, and the likes of Beni Raich, Herman Maier and Bode Miller.

Atomic say that their fundamental aim through their wide range of ski equipment, is to enable every skier to ski better – achieving more with greater enjoyment. Getting a beginner enthusiastic about the sport, means as much as enabling a professional skier to be that decisive hundredth of a second faster in a race.
